registry?!? more things?!

You can say that b/c of my wonderful Aunts and gramma, i have everything nice for my itty bitty condo.. esp. for someone who doesn't bake nor cook; i have pans, pots, several sets of fine china, crystal barware, silverware, kitchenaid mixer, knives, cooking utensils, waffle maker, toaster oven, microwave, swch maker, blender, furniture, tons of houseware stuff.. and so on.. I honestly can say we don't need anything.. so, i had suggested previously at a dinner to my aunt when she asked me what my registry is that i would register for charity donations.. to my surprise, i got yelled at b/c that is a tradition that is for a funeral! a funeral!? to think it was a new trend, but i guess my family may not be that trendy..

lately my friends and some coworkers have been asking me about my registry again, so i guess i am forced (again, maybe i m just a pushover?!) to get a registry.. so, i looked up myregistry.com and went through every single item on the list with my fiance and we have each item or we don't need it since we do not cook or bake.. finally, someone suggested what about ur honeymoon.. well, my honeymoon is already taken care of (flights and all) + my whole family will be going! what about nice restaurants? well, i'm a very simple girl and eat at the same places locally all the time.. i really do not care for any sheeshee restaurants.. to be honest, have no energy nor time to go to them.. so, finally after half an hour of trying to convince me what i need for my registry, someone suggested putting things that i like to go to weekly; like trader joe's, costco, nordys, my church, etc.. so, thanks to their great suggestion, i included something like this:
"We are not registered since our place is too small, but here are some places we like to go to: Trader Joe's, Costco, Nordstrom, Central Peninsula Church" (i was able to slip in there a donation to my church but in a nicer way)

Also, for brides-to-be out there, if ur still not sure what to include, here are some great ideas: http://weddings.weddingchannel.com/wedding-registry-ideas/bridal-registry-guide/articles/4-hot-wedding-registry-trends.aspx

So, i'm glad i can get that off my checklist.. 1 down, ten million things more to go! ;p

wines?!?

Wines, why are there a million bottles of soooo many different wines? they should have a freggin label that says *this is perfect for weddings, just order this amount for this many guests* done.. instead, they have to have all these different bottles, types, flavors, name brands, point and critic systems.. it's just mind boggling! So, b/c of all these things, I went and bought like 10 bottles to try from yesterday..

first went to safeways.. too many selections, so i just picked one where the bottle had purple labels and a gold recommended award.. barefoot something, doesn't sound very yummi.. but i guess it has an award and was cheap to start off with..

then to TJs, asked the guy his opinion.. he was very nice, but i went home with 8 more freggin bottles of wine! how can there be 8 different wines that are someone's favorite.. i know it's like clothes where there's a million different things and brands, etc.. but at least we can try on the freggin clothes before we buy, or even be able to return after.. but thanks to this new "law" we can't return alcohol period!

off to bevmo... migosh, this is the worse place to try to figure out wines.. they have like 20 times more selections.. ppl say their prices are cheap, but not as cheap as TJs.. and the problem is they have this wilfred wong point rating system.. wth is wilfred wong and why they heck does he have everything rated arond 80s to 90s.. he really can't decide which ones are the best and which ones really suck! on top of that they have this vineyard partners sign, which makes it look like one of those "bevmo faves" but i guess is not.. the guy there was somewhat helpful, but he again, he chose like 6 wines.. at that point, i really didn't feel like buying another 6 bottles of wine..

evening costco run.. this place i liked, they had less selections of wines and if it was a good wine, they had some kind of sheet printed about the vineyard and why it's a good wine.. so, i decided to run off with a bottle of cameron hughes lot 102 wine and it has my purple label to go with my amethyst/purple theme.. luckily i went to my uncle's house who is the connouisseur of wines in our family.. he has a nice stock obviously and since i'm buying reds for him to drink.. i had him try this one and we all liked it! so luckily, i was able to find a red!!! depite the fact that i have like another 5 bottles outside, which i'm just going to have people drink and try tonight at a bday thing.. ;p

btw, i still have freggin champagne to figure out and white wines.. they really don't make it any easier.. before you know it, i'll have a full cellar of wines that can most likely be enough for the wedding! hahahaha ;p
